Dynalectric Company: San Diego’s Leading Electric
Installers
DECK: Dynalectric specializes in design, installation and
maintenance of electrical services for San Diego area
businesses.
Dynalectric
Company is San Diego’s leader in complex electrical
installation.
The
company’s projects range from the renovation of aging
office and hotel space to the new construction of
high-rise downtown commercial projects. It handles
commercial jobs varying from the $100 labor plus materials
assignment to the $9 million signature project.
Dynalectric
opened its San Diego offices in 1985 and since then has
completed over $450 million of electrical work in the
region. The Dynalectric Company is operated by long-time
area residents and backed by the shared international
resources of parent company EMCOR.
“With
our tremendous amount of experience and resources, we are
the expert problem solvers when it comes to electrical
contracting in San Diego,” says President and General
Manager David Raspolich, who has led Dynalectric’s San
Diego office since its beginning.
Whether
the building will be used for housing area visitors or
conducting scientific research and development,
Dynalectric understands the specific requirements of
electronic planning and design, as well as the fiscal
realities of business today.
“Our
partners in all markets – both private and public
sectors -- look to Dynalectric to help them manage their
facilities’ efficiency and their profitability,” says
Raspolich.

From the Beginning…
Dynalectric
Company’s value begins well before the start of
construction. Dynalectric professionals can work with
clients in the building’s design stages and offer
experienced insight into complicated electrical
requirements.
This
pre-construction planning helps save time and money by
minimizing errors and omissions -- a crucial part of
keeping construction change-order costs down.
“Pre-construction
is an area where Dynalectric shines,” says Raspolich.
“We work with designers, architects, engineers and
others to solve problems before they happen.”
SUBHEAD…And
Beyond
The
professionals of Dynalectric are also adaptable and can
work from unfinished plans or plans that are suddenly
changed.
“If the
client says, `I need to clean air faster’ or `I need to
add a laboratory’ – we can design on the fly,” says
Raspolich.
Projects
are staffed with qualified, trained managers and craftsmen
who are among the best in the field.
In
addition to training at Dynalectric, all electricians at
the company have completed an accredited five-year
apprenticeship and achieve at least 18 hours of continued
training and education each year.

A Team of Professionals
The
proven professionals of Dynalectric possess the
experience, knowledge and skills to construct a variety of
facilities -- from the complex to the high profile and
state-of-the-art.
Philip
Petersen
Vice President of Operations
“Dynalectric
is a one-stop shop for business electrical needs,” says
Philip Petersen, vice president of operations. “We
handle hourly repairs to complicated laboratories and the
40-story high rise. In all cases, the customer comes
first.”
With over
20 years’ experience in the industry and a dozen years
with Dynalectric, Petersen sees himself as just one of
many who support the talented and skilled field staff.
“Our
field employees have built a reputation for themselves and
for Dynalectric – people want to work with them,” says
Petersen.
Robert
Riel
Vice President of Information Technology
Gone are
the days when a building’s electrical installation meant
simply laying down pipe and wire.
“Now
electrical installation technology includes fire
alarm/life safety systems, sound and video, heating and
air conditioning, security and access control -- as well
as the usual telecommunications and data services,” says
Robert Riel, vice president of information technology and
offering over 16 years’ experience in the industry,
including more than 12 with Dynalectric.
“With
our help, systems do more than talk to each other – they
actually work together,” says Riel. “We offer
customers more value at a lower cost, especially customers
with multiple systems.”
One of
the talents Riel’s division offers clients is
identifying potential setbacks involving security,
lighting or late-night access. Another is providing
service after the sale – in essence a “building
warranty.”
Jim
Carson
Chief Estimator
Working
with the client’s vision, as well as material, labor and
costs, Dynalectric provides reasonable cost estimates tied
to market conditions.
“Understanding
a client’s total electrical needs helps prevent
change-orders, unforeseen costs and time delays once the
project is underway. This leads to the most accurate
estimate possible,” says Jim Carson, chief estimator
with 30 years in the industry, 10 of them with Dynalectric.
But
creating costs estimates for electrical contracting
involves more than crunching numbers. It’s another case
where communication is key.
“Along
with knowledge and experience, we also work to build a
trusting relationship with clients,” says Carson.
“That’s the additional value of Dynalectric.”
